Metairie, LA – Louisiana’s largest Cinco de Mayo Festival presented by Avión and Modelo Especial returns to Fat City on Friday, May 5th with 2 Stages of live entertainment featuring headliners Mannie Fresh, Partners ‘N Crime, and Honey Island Swamp Band. Cinco de Mayo Fest (www.cincodemayofest.com) is now a non-profit event benefiting Ecco NOLA (www.ecconola.org), a Louisiana 501c-3 dedicated to helping Hispanic high school students achieve their greatest potential by providing mentorship and scholarships to attend top colleges across the nation.

The one-day only festival takes place at Fat City Park, produced by Yeah You Right Events, and featuring live lucha libre, the city’s biggest taco eating contest, food trucks, and a Premium Avión VIP Experience with unlimited tacos and food from Los Jefes Grill, bottle service, and additional entertainment.

“Cinco de Mayo Fest has grown exponentially over the years, but I’ve always wanted to give back to the community that made me what I am today,” said Los Jefes owner Oscar Chimal. “I am excited about the opportunity to work with Ecco and support local high school students.”

Cinco de Mayo Fest ticketing options include $25 General Admission, $75 VIP, and $550 for Table Service and 6 Admission tickets. Discounted early bird tickets are now available through Eventbrite or visit our website at www.cincodemayofest.com for more information.

Our goal is to raise over $25,000 for Ecco NOLA in 2023 so they can continue to do the important work they do in our community.

ECCO

A 501c3 non-profit organization created in 2019 to provide assistance to the immigrants of Orleans and Jefferson Parish, beginning with the Hispanic/Latino community, for a healthy environment where families can adapt more effectively to their new surroundings. Our help focuses on high school students approaching college and provides them with the necessary tools to achieve their greatest potential. In three years, Ecco NOLA has helped students gain access to over $2,000,000 in college scholarships and provided additional funding for books and other essentials once in college.

Proceeds from Cinco de Mayo Fest benefit Ecco, a Louisiana 501c-3 dedicated to helping Latino students gain access to higher education through mentorship, leadership training, and assistance with attaining college scholarships. In our first three years, ECCO STUDENTS have received more than $2 million dollars in Scholarships and Financial AID and 17 students have received $1,000 in direct scholarships for books and other college expenses.
