Cinco de Mayo Fest started in 2016 as a block party on Edenborn in front of Los Jefes Grill in the heart of Fat City. After the Covid-hiatus, Los Jefes owner Oscar Chimal decided to move the event to Fat City Park one block from Los Jefes. The move enabled Cinco de Mayo Fest to grow into the largest celebration of Mexican food and culture in the New Orleans area.
After 3 years in Fat City, this year's Cinco de Mayo Fest, sponsored by Modelo Beer and Herradura Tequila, has outgrown the space and is moving the show down the street to Lafreniere Park. The Al Copeland Meadow is the perfect space for the biggest Cinco de Mayo Festival in the region.
G/A Tickets get access to the festival grounds where you can enjoy live music & entertainment from DJ Mannie Fresh, Partners-n-Crime, La-Tran-K, mechanical bull riding, and the Silent Disco Dohm Collective.
We will have food truck vendors Southerns, Peewee's Crab Cakes, Soule Cafe, Fantasy Tacos, Don Cruz Elotes, and more to come!
VIP Tickets get access to all of the above plus entry to the Herradura VIP lounge where you can enjoy tacos at the Los Jefes Food Truck, additional food choices, premium bars, private air-conditioned restrooms, plus upfront stage access, and additional entertainment.
VIP Tables get access to all of the above plus your own picnic table in the Herradura Big Top Tent that includes a dedicated server. Bottle service upgrades in the Big Top are available for purchase.
And it's all for a great cause. Cinco de Mayo Fest benefits the Louisiana 501c-3, The Aligned Foundation, and their programming to help young children strengthen their mental health.
